The progress of studies on the seasonal transition of the stratospher ic circulation in the northern hemisphere during the springtime is briefly summa rized, involving the characteristics of the seasonal transition in stratosphere, the influencing factors, the relationship between the stratospheric and the tro pospheric circulation, and the applications of the seasonal transition in strato sphere. Because the seasonal transition in stratosphere is earlier than in tropo sphere, its further research can provide clues for the short-term climate forec ast.
